© www.ironsmelting.net It is worth noting that since the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza ended in 1995 (1967-1995) no activities of city development of nature took place in Jenin as such activities were always blocked by the Israeli restrictions. This also applies on the other cities and villages of Palestine.

Almost one month a head of the Palestine forces entering the city a new legitimate municipal committee took over in the city. Nominated by president Yasser Arafat on October 13, 1995, the municipal committee made their best to change the dramatic situation in the city. With an annual budget of almost 10 million dollars (the budget of 1998), much work has been accomplished since then, among which the most important probably are:-
1- Paving 35 kilometers of new roads.
2- Digging a new well of 210 cubic meters/hour in capacity.
3- Maintaining some internal roads with the cost of 1.5 million US$.
