Conference Proceedings
Dear WIC participants,
It is with pleasure that we can announce the finalised plans and dates for the proceedings of WIC2009.
The WIC proceedings will be a hardback and full colour volume, and we hope to create, with all your help, a landmark publication about research on iron around the world.
We therefore invite all of you to submit your WIC presentation for peer review. We hope to include the majority of oral presentations and a selection of the posters, depending on space and the results of the peer review. As with the conference itself we will operate an ‘inclusive’ rather than ‘exclusive’ approach, but obviously we are bound by size limits and academic standards.
Several of you already submitted a draft paper before the conference, but please resubmit following the guidelines attached, and altered where desired based on new information or ideas you gained during WIC.
Please note that if you are submitting a paper, this needs to be with us (having been checked by a native English speaker) by the 20th of July 2009. The published volume should then be with you in March 2011. Please see the Notes for WIC Authors document for details on how to submit, and a schedule for subsequent submission of corrections and proofs.
If you presented a poster at WIC, you may wish to contact us before writing and submitting a paper, as we can unfortunately only include a selection of your contributions.
Session chairs will receive the audio files of their session and discussion in the next week (further information to follow) and have a word limit of 8000 words for their lead articles.
Last not but not least, we hope you are all thinking about your papers for a potential WIC2012 :o)!
Jane and Xander
Please note that submission is only possible for people who did attend WIC in February. All communication regarding the proceedings should be sent to WIC2009@ironsmelting.net.
